Mick Hackbarth Marketing VP

In 1998, I was named manager of PlaMor Bowl. I always have to remind myself on bad days that I asked for this job. After 6 years of success, my wife and I were able to purchase the business.  My wife Jennifer and I have now lived in the area nearly 7 years, and have never looked back.  We love the area, love the people and the community, and feel especially blessed that we have been so well recieved.

PROJECTS ON TAP:

The golf tournament occurred on May 14 despite the weather.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this fundraiser happen, especially the Jayme Lentz who headed it up again this year.

Iowa River Canoe trip / float

We are planning a trip from Iowa Falls to Eagle City on Sunday June 19.  If you would like to go please contact Brent Bonner at 648.3366 by June 12 as the number of canoes will need to be reserved.  We are planning on having a grill out after the float.  People who do not want to canoe are welcome to come to just the picnic.

Riverbend Rally events:

This year we will have a lot of activities going on during the Fourth of July weekend we need your help on.  We run the Little Miss Iowa Falls pageant, and are expanding this event to have a tea on June 29 for the contestants.  We are sponsoring the candidate Lisa Liebold in the Miss Iowa Falls contest.  Support her with your votes.  We also will need all of the help you can give in selling glow necklaces at the river bend before and during the fireworks.  This fundraiser helps with all that we do to help the community.  Lori Krause has asked for assistance with the kids games from anyone who would like to on July 2 from 10-2.

Ben Showalter and Laura Ziesman were each awarded $500 through our scholarship to help with their college expenses.  A donation to the boy scouts for a scholarship to camp was also given.
