Dear Friends,
I am a lifetime resident of Iowa Falls. I want to share with you my dream. This dream was inspired by a special needs student, my son Matt, who had some very big thoughts about a very simple subject.
This June 18, 2005, volunteers from the community and I will be breaking the outdoor Guinness World Record for the largest pizza ever baked. Our record goal is 126 ft. 8 inches in diameter. This event will happen in the Iowa Falls-Alden High School parking lot.
I have been working with a variety of vendors to make arrangements to make this event a success. Many vendors have been able to give us free or exceptionally discounted products for the pizza, however, we are in need of donations to help offset the cost of this project that will put Iowa Falls on the map. Funds raised beyond our overhead will be given to the Iowa Falls-Alden School System for their special needs classes. We are currently working on the required paperwork for the tax-exemption status with the IRS.
This is not only a great event for our community but will attract tourists from a wide area. I have contacted all of the local news media (television, radio and newspaper), who will be here on the 18th to cover this historical event. This will, likely, also capture national media attention as well. This presents a once in a lifetime opportunity for your business. If you want to get a "piece of the pie" - now is the time to act. When you donate, your name will be included on our banner of advertising which will be on display at the event. In addition, we will send a picture of the completed pizza that you can post at your business.
